Archery

The weather having been unusually good where I live recently, I decided to post pictures of myself doing one of the few things I do. That being target shooting. I have two bows, which you can see in the pictures below:
A two-foot tall, simple compound; my first decent bow and good for distance.

A five-foot standard longbow. Thirty pound pull comes standard. This one is all-around better than the first.

In the photo above, you can see my target on the right side. I am not aiming at any particular spot on the stack; I'm not that good. I usually stand about five yards farther in, but I'm showing off for this shot. And yes, that's my Christmas stocking doing double duty as a quiver, but no, I am not a Cowboys fan.
And, just for kicks, I have these...

  1. Archery is one of those things that I've always wanted to try. Being a writer of fantasy, the bow is probably my favourite weapon.

  2. Well, my personal favorite has always been the sword. I prefer imagining myself as a tough guy who would charge into combat (though I'm not) rather than standing back and shooting people down. Thanks for adjusting your link. When I change things, not even the url is safe...;)

  3. Cool, I have a compound bow but I really haven't used it in a long time.
I usually perfer the sword to the bow but in fantasy, I have always liked the Mage/Wizard.

    1. That's interesting, but I seem to prefer skill over abilities, when it comes to that. If I could, I would choose to be a man or a dwarf.

  4. Swordsman. That's me. Rapier fencing, every monday night. Broadsword, all the time. Any kind of combat with the sword is what I like best. But I have to admit, I am not an excelent swordsman. I'm pretty sure I fence better with my Italian foil then my broadsword.
